Our Mission

Honcho Campout is a queer gathering in nature that celebrates those doing the heavy lifting in their local scenes. Our goal is to promote radical acceptance and create space for self discovery, while giving artists a platform to share their work and talents. In doing so we aim to connect people and communities; strengthening the global queer network. Our values are freedom of self expression, inclusivity, and excellence.

Our Vision for the Future

Over the next decade, Honcho Campout will solidify as a model of Queer creativity, connection, and inclusivity. By learning from our community, we will continuously evolve our spaces and programming to cultivate deeper connections and inspire radical self-discovery.

Guided by our values of joy, acceptance, and communal care—especially for Black, Indigenous, people of color, and trans individuals— we will diversify the festival across all dimensions through intentional new initiatives and the Queer Fam Fund. We aim to diversify our festival staff, artists and guests across race, gender and identity through changes in our ticketing model, hiring and mentorship, as well guest curation.

Our community will find a year-round home at Four Quarters by deepening our partnership through a long-term contract, board participation, and expanded programming. Together, we will enhance the land’s amenities while upholding our shared commitment to its preservation. We will launch Echo State, a wellness and music retreat, and collaborate with other like-minded event partners to give their ideas a home.

We will champion our community’s immense talents, and cultivate sacred bonds that ripple far beyond Campout, redefining what a festival can achieve.
